Updated: Sep 15, 2025

Ceramic Matcha Bowl (Chawan)

After every usage, the ceramic matcha bowl (chawan) will need to rinse gently using room temperature water to remove all matcha residue. After that, gently pat dry with a soft kitchen towel.

Bamboo Whisk (Chasen)

  • Cleaning instructions

The Bamboo Whisk (Chasen) will need more attention when it comes to the care process due to its delicate curve shape and natural bamboo materials being use. After each use, soak your bamboo whisk (Chasen) in warm water for 10 seconds then rinse in gently to ensure no matcha residue stick on the tines. This step is crucial because if not cleaned properly, the bamboo whisk can develop molds and shortens the longevity of your whisk.

** An important note is to never soak your bamboo whisk in dishwasher or any washing chemical as it can easily damage your whisk.

  • Drying instructions

After rinsing your bamboo whisk, use a clean and dry soft kitchen towel to pat your whisk gently to absorb all the excess water from your bamboo whisk which shorten the bamboo whisk drying process.

Lastly, place your bamboo whisk on the ceramic whisk holder and let it air dry. This sturdy ceramic whisk holder will keep your Chasen in the right curvy shape without damaging it for your next use, which helps to prolong the lifespan of your bamboo whisk.
